Q: [Crossfit] Every time I do chest-to-bar pullups or snatches, the skin on my hand gets ripped. What should I do?

A: Develop callouses.  How do you do it?  Stress your hands repeatedly and use an emory board to smooth out any roughness.

Do NOT shave callouses.  Plain illogical.  Callouses are your skin’s natural reaction to physical stress.  You build up stronger skin tissue through callouses over time.  After a while, soon the tearing will stop.

You can wear gloves, but you’ll look like a dingle-berry and lose “feel” that is beneficial in controlling your movements.
