At my gym, we do new things, very intensely. We push at the margins of our comfort zones, which are not just physical but also mental. One of those mental aspects is integrity. It’s defined as “adherence to moral and ethical principals; soundness of moral character.”
Do you cut corners when no one is looking? That’s integrity. Integrity is like being pregnant — either you is or you ain’t. No gray area or option to have integrity “sometimes.”
When things get tough, many of us get creative with counting. You might want to look better on the whiteboard or appeal to your vanity. Integrity is impossible to have it in life when you don’t have it during a workout.
